Zmail is the secure Mail module of ZSentry. Usability, privacy, security, cost reduction, and high-value services (for example, self-destruct) are some of the main reasons to use Zmail, when compared with alternatives such as regular email, fax, postal mail, or overnight delivery. Zmail is also compatible with hard-to-use, previous secure email solutions PKI/X.509 and PGP, providing higher usability and security.

Zmail provides benefits to you and your customers:

1. To your customers: Your customers, in spite of your best efforts, are at risk regarding confidentiality and privacy with regular email. Unfortunately, hackers can and do access Internet systems and desktop computers, taking advantage of the lack of protection that besets regular email as it passes through the Internet and is downloaded. Customers are not trained to not disclose sensitive data in an email. If someone were to intercept your customer emails, sensitive information may easily fall into the wrong hands. Unprotected customer information, even if just an account name, can be used to craft phishing and impersonation attacks that can later on be used to attack not only your customer but also your business. Zmail eliminates these risks with end-to-end strong encryption and two-factor user authentication, assuring all parties that only the authorized recipients can read the messages that you and your customers send.
2. To you: Communication with your customers, partners and personnel can be easier, cheaper and more productive, easily achieving buy-in because there is nothing to download, upgrade, change, or be trained for with Zmail. Your customer's zmail to you will stand out and not be confused with spam, while your customer will know that your zmail is actually from you and not something to be suspicious about, such as a phishing attack. You also avoid the delays, costs and extra administrative time associated with postal mail, faxes, help desk support, and multiple deliveries of the same email information because you do not know if it arrived.

Because your customer can use Zmail Basic at no cost, there are no usage costs other than those your customer already pays for their Internet service. There is no cost or need for your customer to modify her IT systems to meet security requirements and/or acquire suitable Internet access. Reasonably up-to-date hardware and software should meet all zmail requirements.

The Zmail solution allows anyone to verifiably notarize, digitally sign, send, receive, and confirm receipt of secure documents and email, with no prior experience, no email address change, no installation, and no download. Zmail is a better, faster, and more cost-effective alternative to overnight delivery.

Zmail satisfies international, US federal, and state requirements for digital signature of documents and secure document delivery, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), International Standards Organization (ISO) 17799, Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOA), and California SB-1386 regulations. Evidentiary laws may vary by jurisdiction.

Zmail is a time-tested product, with anti-phishing, mutual authentication, and two-factor authentication technology first qualified by the Swedish Government's Ministry of Justice Statskontoret in 2001. Zmail does not use ActiveX controls or cookies. Works with Windows, Mac, and Linux, using any current email software and web-browser. Zmail is provided in two editions: Premium and Basic.

Getting Zmail Basic is easy. When you send a zmail to a new zmail user, the user is automatically invited to register and can do so in a one-step process. You can also allow your customer to read the Zmail without registration, securely.

Zmail Premium

Zmail Premium provides comprehensive message, security and document control services, preventing email phishing, email disclosure and identity theft. Includes a certified "ZSentry Verified" seal for each user, that is visible to the message recipients and is useful to enable trust. All security controls are available by means of a control dashboard that makes it easy to view, select and customize tracking, delivery, expiration, release, and several other zmail security services before sending a secure email. Zmail messages can be read securely with a single-click, even on first contact and without registration. Recipients can reply securely without cost (using Zmail Basic). Message transport encoding is optimized for deliverability and spam-trigger avoidance. Single-user or multiple-user accounts with customer self-management. May be branded and customized by request, including the use of OTP authentication.

Premium Manager Account: offers centralized administration of users by an organization, while protecting user privacy. An organization may use a Zmail Premium Manager account for directly and at any time invite, approve and unsubscribe their own users. Upon invitation by the organization, the user registers at zmail to define their own password and receive their own usercode. Upon approval by the organization, the user is granted a Premium User account linked to the organization's Premium Manager account; the user is identified online by a ZSentry Verified seal that includes the organization's name. Upon unsubscription by the organization, the user's Premium User account is immediately terminated and the ZSentry Verified seal revoked. At no moment is the organization made aware of any user's usercode or password.

The Premium Manager account also includes a resell license, so that Premium Managers may resell Premium User accounts from their multiple-user Premium Manager account.

ZSentry Verified seal: Zmail Premium messages are sent with a certified ZSentry Verified seal, that can be clicked by recipients after they authenticate to read your message: click to see a sample. Zmail message security information is provided when the recipient clicks on the ZSentry Verified seal logo to verify it. Recipients will know that the sender has a Zmail Premium commercial account and that the sender took care in sending a secure, authenticated message to them -- and that's why the message is important.

Credential Recovery: For Premium Users and Managers, a Credential Recovery service is available at every page as a Recovery button or link, which is useful in case the password just cannot be remembered. To use this service, the user must first set it up with a security question and answer, which ZSentry does not have access to afterwards and are applied to encrypt the private recovery record. Users may keep the recovery record with themselves or safely store it in their encrypted and de-identified ZSentry area (default). Without the user's security question and answer, the private recovery record is useless. This service is 100% self-managed. Zmail does not have a copy of users' ZSentry usercode, return code or password.

Credential Reset: In case of loss or compromise users can Reset their ZSentry Account by using a Reset button or link in any page. Does not require setup. This service is 100% self-managed. Zmail does not have a copy of users' ZSentry usercode, return code or password.

Zmail Basic

We also offer a fully functional free version. Free Basic Zmail (click for specifications and sign up) is an all-in-one solution that includes ZSentry Desktop, Web, and Mobile. Licensed for personal and non-commercial use only. Can read an unrestricted number of secure messages; the number and size of secure messages that can be sent per day is limited. Price: No cost.
